11月4日 Whew!Been so busy. Have missed this more than you can ever know! Pirate's Father passed away on Oct. 9th and with all the stuff that goes along with that, is the reason I haven't been here for a while. Everything has been taken care of now, and it's back to "business as usual". Took forever to get his trailer cleaned out, thank God he hadn't been there very long! The man was a pack rat to say the least. *Note to self: DON'T KEEP IT. LOL! Pirate is doing pretty well. Still has "days" where it hits him. But this too will pass. Have a few new things going on with me now. The store had to close, I think I said that already. In the photo's you will see some of my newest glass work. I even posted in the "Big Kids" Gallery at a Lamp Working forum I belong to. Now that was scary, LOL! I've also opened a web shop to purchase my work, or keep a closer eye on my progress, LOL!!! HUGS Nita 10月5日 PonderingsThinking to myself, now why in the world would I have a blog if I don't write in it? I used to do this, what...daily? Well, busy lives and all that I suppose. But I am going to take more of an interest for sure! Pirate Sr. isn't long for this world. It's nearing the end for him, and both Pirate (jr) and I are worn to a frazzle. It's actually mental fatigue more than physical. The weather her has been so pretty. Indian Summer for us. Good for sales at the store tho! LOTS of tourists still coming to the beaches and ports. YAY! Time to go to work, have a wonderful day! Nita 9月7日 Getting BusyWell I believe I've recovered from the road trip to the valley. Just not as young as I used to be I guess.  Things are going great at the store. LOTS of folks stopping by to see what's going on. This is a good thing. Just wish these nice folks would spend some money, LOL! After all, that's what it's there for hmmm? I made a bunch of "Barefoot Sandles" this week. They are so much fun! Need to take some photos for sure. I seem to have a "brain fart" when it comes to taking pictures. I have so many new glass beads I've made and have yet to a) clean them or b) photograph them. What I need to do is hire someone to do that. Maybe get an apprentice. hehehehehehe! I can dream can't I? Speaking of dreams. I am grateful that I'm living mine. I so look forward to going to the store every day. Yes, you read that right, EVERY DAY! I'm open 7 days a week. I figure I'd be there anyway as all my glass and all my beads are there. So I might as well be open right? Right! Hope this finds you happy and well. Hugs, Nita 9月1日 Puppies & Glass Glass & PuppiesOMG so much has happened. In a nut shell.... I have a new temporary store in Charleston! After it gets turned into a Pizza Place I hope to move just next door. And hoping to just put my motor home on the same property! One rent....that's what I'm talking about! New rescue puppy came home from the valley with us this last weekend. His name is Buddy. And no, I didn't have to beg to have him! Pirate chose him. Abso-freaking-lutely amazing. I'll post a new pic of him, bear in mind it's his first day at the store. He does have to stay on a lead as he is a runner. He ran loose for 5 days on the farm. Poor thing about starved to death. But he's getting better already! Sales at the store are good. I'm having fun again. I'll take pix soon of all the new beads I've been making. I hate taking photos! Have a great time all... I have been so busy! Hugs Nita 6月14日 NEXT!!!I have no idea what's next, but I'm sure looking forward to it! The Redneck Studio is up, and almost running. I made my first sale yesterday, and I wasn't even open. Today I get to play with some glass! YAYYYY! I have 2 of my 4 bead orders finished, and well... my fingers hurt LOL! Need to give them a break for a day. Will finish up the next 2 orders tomorrow for sure. I've also opened an Artfire online store. Haven't put anything in there yet, but..... I will. It's a bit scary having an online store. But at least I know I can cover the monthly expenses.... IT'S FREE! ;-) Ok, off to the studio I go, have a great day, and hey! How ya doin? Nita 6月8日 Almost deadI am so tired. Those who bother to read this I thank you ahead of time for all your support and well wishes. I've had to close the store. While it was doing well, it wasn't paying for itself UNTIL I started moving out mind you. But I'm too far behind in the Lease now to stay. I am putting up a booth outside of the motor home will give me some place to torch and to sell on weekends. Might be kinda nice to be open only 3 days a week instead of the 7 that I've been doing since Pirate had his surgery. I'll post pics of my redneck storage here soon. Should be good for a couple of laughs. Nita 5月22日 Goddess BeadsThese beads were waiting for me at the shop this morning, nestled in my kiln from yesterday. I AM ONE HAPPY CAMPER! The ivory one is already sold. The glass forum I belong to has a chat room, and I happened to show these in there, and BOOM! She got snapped up right away! Now that makes me feel good. I'm still considered a "Newbie" as I've been at this less than a year. WOW! What a compliment let me tell you! Ok, off to bed I go! Nita 5月16日 Hollow BeadsI am having just too too much fun! Most of these pix are hollow beads, not the chicken tho, and I have NO IDEA where that one came from! Just thought I'd try! I love this getting to torch(er) glass every day! The sun is back! The trees have leaves AND flowers! So far, all is well in my world, hope yours is the same! Nita 5月5日 Glass FoolYep, that's me, a glass FOOL! I've been torching every single day now for what... over a month. I can tell the difference too! I had a new friend come by the shop and show me a few "tricks" and I've taken that and ran like the wind! The first hearts, while good, were kinda large. Large = lots of glass = costly. Small = less glass = less costly! Makes sense to me! I also had an appointment with the funeral home director/owner today. My Memory Beads were a hit!!! He's going to be passing a LOT of business my way, and I also found out that they creamate animals at his facility also! So, I need to show pictures of the little bones and balls of yarn that I've been making! At any rate, pretty good day today, how's yours??? Nita 4月29日 NadaWell here I am again, in all my glory... NOT! Naw, just kidding. I took the day off today. Haven't done that for what seems like forever. Just putzin' around the motor home, did some dishes, did some laundry, mostly....played on my computer and just SAT STILL. Isn't it amazing what holding still can do for a person? Only half my day is gone, and I feel better all ready. I know, I said I did all that up there, but really, in between, and after, that's what I've done. No t.v. no phone (no pool no pets either, LOL!) Not even any music on. Just listening to the sounds around me. Lawnmower (sure smells good) Birds. Puppies. Wind in the trees. Yep, I think I should do this at least once a month. Restoring the batteries. How are you? Nita 4月5日 Sunshine days 2 in a row!Oh my gosh it's been so loverly out! I do so enjoy the sunshine. Solar powered and all that you know! I was given the honor of making some "Memory Beads" for a friend of mine. It's where you take the ashes of a loved one, and incorporate them into a bead. WOW! I know, it might creep some folks out, but you know what? Not me for some reason. This was such an honor actually. So I've posted them, and I'm going to put in an add at the store letting folks know that I will do this. I think it started last year, when due to a tragic accident here locally, a small boy and his uncle were lost at sea. The aunt of the boy, (and wife of the man) brought in a small vial, and asked if I would bead it closed for her. Again, I had no problem with it. I believe mostly, because it brings such joy to the people that I do this for. At any rate, I am feeling so blessed right now. Have a great day all, and try not to get "Fooled" too much! Nita 3月21日 Saturday morningBeen busy playing with glass again! I've made some really cool vessels that I'm actually HAPPY with. We are our own worst critics you know. It's Saturday evening, and I have a student tonight! Will be loads of fun, as she is quiet eager to learn. Those are the best kinds! Pirate had a Dr.'s appointment on Thursday and is recovering "better than average" This is a good thing! Other than that, same things going on, I LOVE my store! How are things in your world???? Nita 3月17日 Got Green?Happy St. Paddy's Day!!! Hope you all get pinched if your not wearing green! I have a sale going on this month in the shop. 20% off any finished product with green in it. Not bad huh? Been busy busy as per usual, hope this finds you all well and happy Nita 3月11日 Renovations, Moving, and GLASS!Well I've been a busy bee! This past Monday, I moved all my glass and torch down to the store. YAY!! Torching here in the Motor Home has been a chore. Not to mention a bother. Does it not seem like EVERY time I get set up and ready to go, Pirate needs by, the phone rings or it starts to rain sideways? Yep, pretty much! So now, I can go to the store on "closed" days sit in the back room, and have elbow room, peace and quiet, and my kiln all in one spot! I managed to get quite a bit done these past 2 days. I also cleaned my office! My motto is "Creation is Messy" (also a brand name of some killer glass) And my office WAS messy to the extreme! Not so anymore! On days that the store is open, I pass the time beading. Hence my desk was a disaster! Now it's spanking clean. hmmmmm wonder how long that will last!  Nita 3月2日 Men/BabiesWell almost everything is back to normal. What IS normal anyway? I'm sure I don't know. It's been a hell of a ride for sure. Now that the scary part is over, I'm not too thrilled with the recovery process. And what does that mean? That I'm ready to kill him. LMBO! What IS it with men and being hurt/sick/broken etc.? Such babies. hehehehehe Nita 2月12日 He's coming home!He's coming home today! I have SO missed my Pirate. Through thick and thin He IS my best friend. His spirits are great his health is getting better each day. Doctors said he will give me a run for my money when this is all behind us. YAY!! I've sent most of you an email explaining all of this
but for those of you who didn't recieve it here are the facts.
Thursday the mas on my heart will have
quadruple by pass surgery.
we need thoughts, prayers, good feelings
anything you can send up for us ok?
I'm still in shock.
I'm trying to be strong.
it's very hard to see this strapping man
laying in a hospital bed with
tubes and wires everywhere and so weak.
I love him so.
Nita 1月23日 JanuaryWell lots going on in the country eh? Lots going on here too! The store is doing pretty well so far. I've joined in the Art Walk which puts me (literally) on the map. Second Thursday of each month all the art shops stay open until 8:00 p.m. with munchies and tea, coffee or what have you. Each month we showcase a different artist. Well....I'm either going to showcase myself each month OR find someone who can put on a good show, LOL! I've also put an ad in the local shopper paper. Nothing huge, just a nice little blurb about a new bead store in town. The paper came out yesterday (Thursday) and has generated some interest! YAY! I'll update the photos in the next day or two. My Pirate got my 8 foot case set up, and hung all my louvered doors up on the wall behind the long case. It's looking pretty good in there if I say so myself! In between all this, I've even managed to get my size 15 beads bagged and tagged. Made some book jewelry. Made a few dz. earring sets, mostly for Valentines Day. Made some necklaces too. Busy busy busy and you know what? I LOVE IT! Be well ~Nita~ |
